Steria wins contract with the MoD

French IT services supplier Steria has won a £60m contract with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), part of the UK Ministry of Defence.

French IT services supplier Steria has won a £60m contract with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), part of the UK Ministry of Defence.

Steria will deliver ICT services to Dstl over an eight-year period, which will begin on 1 April 2011.

It will be responsible for delivering core IT services for Dstl's corporate networks, including maintenance of its IT infrastructure, the provision of IT helpdesk support, and technical support for ad-hoc departmental projects.

Dstl said Steria met its requirements of flexibility, service delivery, information security requirements and value for money.

John Torrie, Steria UK and India CEO, said, "[We are] committed to delivering significant cost savings over the contract lifetime and supporting Dstl in its drive to improve workplace efficiency and IT asset utilisation."
