Microsoft has released Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 to manufacturing (RTM), which means the products will be ready by the launch date of 12 May.

Microsoft has released Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 to manufacturing (RTM), which means the products will be ready by the launch date of 12 May.

According to Microsoft, since the public beta in November, more than 7.5 million people worldwide have downloaded the 2010 set of products. "Their feedback, and the feedback of more than 5,000 corporate customers and partners, has helped to make the 2010 set of products the premier productivity suite across the PC, mobile phone and web browser," the company said.

On the Microsoft TechNet developer blog, Microsoft said the co-authoring experience in Word, PowerPoint and OneNote allowed users to simultaneously edit the same content with colleagues or friends without compromising quality and user experience of Microsoft Office.

"With your documents stored on SharePoint 2010 or Windows Live, the Office Web Apps are great partners to the Office 2010 Clients apps. The Office Web Apps allow you to access and share that rich content even if you don't have the Office 2010 Client apps. Be sure to read the Web Apps blog for more details."
