Adecco is moving to cloud-based IT services with pay as you go pricing through a five-year outsourcing agreement with BT Business.
The £20m deal will include a new voice and data network, the replacement of 3,000 PCs, IT support, as well as a private cloud based on a Citrix platform.

The deal will also enable Adecco to introduced a bring your own device (BYOD) programme.
During bidding, BT Business ran showcases aimed at executives in different parts of the business on the value that technology can bring.
“The BT Business team took a very different approach to the other companies we looked at, managing to capture the imagination of my team, as well as the UK board,” said Brad Dowden, global head of branch office at Adecco.

“We set a very wide brief, but the BT Business team developed a programme that will allow us to change the way we work, making teams more flexible and effective, whilst helping us to drive down costs by only paying for what we use,” he added.
Adecco, which operates globally, has more than 200 branches in the UK.
There has been a recent surge in outsourcing activity, according to the latest figures from Information Services Group (ISG), which show that the third quarter of 2013 saw the highest number of IT outsourcing contracts ever signed in Europe.
There were 125 IT outsourcing deals worth €2.3bn. The value of IT outsourcing contracts signed was the second highest recorded in a quarter and 177% higher than the previous quarter with almost double the number of deals.
