Skandia UK has signed a five-year £105m IT outsourcing contract with HCL Technologies.
Skandia, a provider of long-term savings solutions, is outsourcing application optimisation, including development, maintenance and support, across all platforms and remote infrastructure management to HCL.
By submitting your personal information, you agree that TechTarget and its partners may contact you regarding relevant content, products and special offers.
The deal will also enable and accelerate Skandia’s move to service oriented architecture (SOA). An SOA sees organisations flexibly develop and distribute web-based applications in response to the needs of the business.
Nick Poyntz-Wright, CEO at Skandia, said, “The deal will enable us to have the scalable IT required to grow our business, develop our products and support the key services provided by our customer support team in the UK.”
As part of the deal, 250 Skandia roles will be transferred to HCL and the contract will also be supported by HCL’s delivery centre in Chennai, India.
Around 95 of these roles are currently filled by contractors or unfilled jobs, said Skandia. Around 155 Skandia staff will transfer to HCL.
