HMRC advertises for £205,000 CIO
HM Revenue & Customs has advertised for a new CIO at up to £205,000 a year.
The new CIO will replace Steve Lamey, now HMRC director general for benefits and credits.
The new CIO will have an annual budget of more than £1bn and will oversee about 1,400 staff, says the job advert.
HMRC says it is looking for an individual with IT leadership skills from a FTSE100 company or large public sector organisation, and preferably have some international experience.
The job is worth up to £205,000 for a three-year fixed-term contract. There is an option to take up a permanent position.
The application deadline is 2 February, with the selection process taking place from February to March.
Former Tesco CIO Colin Cobain was recently appointed as a non-executive director at HMRC.
