The majority of business professionals work around their company's IT security rules.

RSA surveyed 417 business professionals to gauge insider threats and found that 53% circumnavigated their firm's security rules.

The survey found that 94% were familiar with their organisation's IT security policies.

RSA said, "People do as they will, regardless of awareness of best security practices. The results of the survey show that employees are well aware of the restrictions placed upon them by their corporate IT departments, yet many often work around these controls in order to get their jobs done in a convenient and timely manner."

The survey found that 64% frequently or sometimes send work documents to their personal e-mail address in order to access and work on them from home.
