London Olympics: webcam view of stadium progress

Cliff Saran

At the same time every day for the next four years, Forman & Field , a salmon smokery business in Fish Island, Stratford, will take a time-lapse video snapshot of the site of the London Olympic stadium using an IQeye IP camera supplied by Smart CCTV, a specialist in video analytics.

Smart CCTV's application engineers customised the camera's software code to record a photograph at 2pm every single day while the Olympic stadium is being constructed. The video image is uploaded via FTP to the company's hosting server.

Forman & Field plans to create a film documenting the construction of the Olympic stadium from start to finish in four years' time, to coincide with the London Olympics in 2012.
