BMW Motorrad UK captures sales leads in real-time

Warwick Ashford

Motorcycle manufacturer BMW Motorrad UK has reduced response times to consumer requests using mobile devices running real-time data capture software.

The PDA-based OnTaap data-capture application enables the company to respond to requests for sales brochures and test drives within 24 hours.

The BMW subsidiary said the application had enabled the capture of 821 qualified sales leads during the recent International Motorcycle & Scooter Show held in Birmingham.

The application captures contact information and consumer requirements to enable focused marketing and tells staff the nearest dealer for each potential customer.

The company said the application had eliminated the need for paper with the business benefits of no data loss, instant data capture and improved customer service.
