The Artois Championships goes for VoIP

Event communications specialists Max WiFi have been selected to supply voice and data communications to The Artois Championships in 2008, the world-renowned men's tennis tournament.

"This is our fifth year supplying The Artois Championships with Wi-Fi, but our first to offer a full IP telecoms package." Says Richard Hughes, technical director at Max WiFi.

"We have supplied 60 VoIP phones from hosted VoIP provider Voicenet Solutions. They will be used onsite by everyone including security, Tournament Directors, the players' concierge and perhaps the most demanding, the media centre who expect the service to be stable and fast for the duration of the event. To make sure everything runs smoothly we will have a Voicenet Solutions trained administrator on hand to configure the phones and to meet all the requirements of the organisers and the press."
