SMEs to spend more on IT in 2008

SMEs have allocated significant additional budget for IT security spending for the fourth quarter 2007 and into 2008, a survey of 2,800 IT managers has revealed.

SMEs have allocated significant additional budget for IT security spending for the fourth quarter 2007 and into 2008, a survey of 2,800 IT managers has revealed.

One quarter of respondents indicated that their organisation will spend between 7% and 10% of their total 2007 IT budget on security and 13% plan to spend more than 15%, according the survey from Astaro Corporation.

One quarter of respondents indicated that their organisation will spend between 7% and 10% of their total 2007 IT budget on security and 13% plan to spend more than 15%. Planned IT security investment for the next fiscal year show is set to rise, with nearly 70% of respondents indicating planned increases in budget to prevent unauthorised access to networks and data.
