UK IT managers get paid more than their counterparts in the US, Ireland and Germany, but less than those in Switzerland, Denmark and Belgium.
The Swiss get paid an average of £74,150, and in the US they get £56,550.
The figures have been collated by human resources consultant Mercer, based on the pay of 6,545 IT staff at companies in 35 different countries.
Multinational companies use the survey to benchmark salaries, bonuses, and other forms of pay, and to allocate global IT budgets.
The survey found that IT managers in Vietnam, Bulgaria and the Philippines receive the lowest pay, at £8,140, £11,700 and £11,720 a year respectively. Indian IT managers were fourth from bottom, earning an average of £13,150.
