Bollywood distributor Opus Media is to make new and classic South Asian movies available for download and on-demand viewing using a new media streaming service.

Opus will use the new Windows media streaming facility that Cambridge-based CacheLogic has just added to its Velocix media distribution service.

The Velocix Video-Windows media streaming service provides live and on-demand streaming from Windows Media Servers deployed globally across the Velocix Network through Windows Media Services 9 Series.

"We have already deployed CacheLogic's video download services across our consumer video portals," said Opus Media CEO, Darren Hop. "Now, with the introduction of Velocix video streaming support, we can also offer an instant on-demand viewing experience to our subscribers."

Cachelogic is an active supporter of Microsoft Silverlight, a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering Microsoft .NET-based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the web.
