Free Wi-Fi served in McDonald’s

Antony Savvas

McDonald's customers in Belgium are to get free Wi-Fi access in all the burger chain's restaurants there.

McDonald's has selected free-hotspot.com to provide the free access to the internet.

"We have adopted this free Wi-Fi service to meet the changing needs of our clientele," said Kristof Vanonckelen, IT manager at McDonald's Belgium. "As the internet comes to play a larger role in our everyday lives, more and more people are looking for ways to go online while away from home," he said.

In Belgium, 22 franchisees manage 55 of the 57 McDonald's restaurants across the country, with 25,000,000 customers served each year.

No plans have so far been announced to offer free Wi-Fi in McDonald's restaurants in the UK.
