Standard Life has renewed and extended its contract with THUS to supply its wide area data network to run its business critical data applications.

THUS provides Standard Life with a high speed, high resilience, open fibre network connecting all eight of its major sites in Edinburgh, supporting business critical applications such as customer database management and financial control.

In addition to the open fibre network, THUS supplies leased lines and manages and maintains Standard Life's bespoke voice requirements.

THUS has been a network provider to Standard Life for more than 12 years. Bill Potter, network services manager at Standard Life, said, "Network availability and service reliability were the cornerstones of our original agreement with THUS, and it has consistently delivered both - achieving 100% actual service reliability."

The terms of the new contract have not been disclosed.
