Egg customers suffer network access cracks
Customers of online bank Egg were hit with site access problems from the evening of Wednesday 22 August after Egg's network provider Cable & Wireless suffered an outage.
The problems went well into Thursday 23 August, with web analytics firm Keynote reporting that customers suffered long web waits before "being thrown into search engines or a blank page".
Cable & Wireless said it was re-routing Egg customers across its networks to help them avoid the undisclosed technology problems.
The egg.com site is now working normally. The bank was recently taken over by Citigroup.
