More SME VoIP products fuel market growth

A report from Dell'Oro research Group, a market information provider on the networking and telecommunications industries, reveals that shipments of VoIP technology grew an impressive 30% in the second quarter of 2007 over the same period a year ago, due in large part to demand driven by small businesses.

"Suppliers continue to broaden their VoIP offerings to small and medium businesses," commented Alan Weckel, senior Analyst at Dell'Oro Group. "Suppliers, such as Avaya, Cisco, and Nortel, continue to expand their development and sales efforts in order to better target smaller businesses with VoIP solutions. With recent product introductions and a renewed focus throughout the industry to sell VoIP solutions to small businesses, the migration to IP will continue to accelerate," Weckel added.
