House of Fraser cuts IT director role

John-Paul Kamath

Department store chain House of Fraser has confirmed it will not fill the vacancy left by retiring IT director Frank Berridge.

Instead, Mike Hiscock, the current director of systems development, and Duncan Gray, the head of computer services, will take joint responsibility for managing IT in the retail group.

The two executives will report to House of Fraser's CFO Stefan Cassar.

House of Fraser said that there was no plan to reappoint an IT director for the company in the foreseeable future but did not comment on the reasons why.

House of Fraser was acquired by the Highland Consortium last October and the changes in management follow both a review of the retail business and its IT systems, a spokeswoman for House of Fraser said.
