E-signature service to streamline SMEs contract signings

Antony Savvas

SMEs are being offered a new electronic-signature service by BT to speed the signing of new contracts.

The BT eSignature service is fully compliant with the UK Electronic Signatures Act, which gives electronic contracts the same weight as those executed on paper.

This avoids having to send paperwork to be signed through the post or via fax.

The BT web-based service can be accessed using any browser and, unlike virtual fax or other e-signature software, automates the entire contracting process, from requesting a signature to the distribution and filing of the signed agreement.

BT eSignature shows users which documents are awaiting a signature and which have been signed, when and by whom. It also automatically converts documents into PDF format and distributes them to all elected parties.

Copies of all signed contracts are automatically stored and backed-up in the BT eSignature user's account, without the need for any customer input.

BT Business is offering users a free five signature trial, then has two versions of the service.

BT eSignature Pro offers unlimited sending and signing for £19.95 per user per month.

BT eSignature Team is designed for companies with more than five users, and provides unlimited sending and signing, with additional branding and team working capabilities for £29.95 per user per month.
