Tour de France to use free radio access in the UK

Cliff Saran

Broadcasters will be able to take advantage of free radio access during the UK leg of the Tour de France. The radio access will be provided by network operator Arqiva, which acquired the 412MHz radio spectrum last year.

Broadcasters will use the radio spectrum, which supports analogue and digital systems, to manage people and equipment from 6 July to 8 July, when the race entourage will be in the UK.

Radios will be used on the network to provide communications to help facilitate the smooth delivery of TV and radio broadcast services back to France.
