ntl:Telewest Business services up to the mark

Antony Savvas

ntl:Telewest Business has achieved MEF 14 certification from the industry’s Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF).

Until now, only correct functionality had been measured for metro/carrier Ethernet services, but never the quality of service.

With its certification, ntl:Telewest Business says its voice over IP and HD quality videoconferencing services are up to the mark.

Carrier Ethernet is a more flexible and scalable networking product for providers, and is aimed at delivering IP-based services to enterprises.

It is starting to replace more established but more expensive products like SDH, Frame Relay and ATM.
