Gala Coral signs £25m IT and comms deal with BT

Antony Savvas

Betting and gaming company Gala Coral Group has signed a £25m five year IT and communications contract with BT.

The deal represents the group’s first joint IT contract since Gala acquired Coral Eurobet in October 2005.

BT becomes Gala Coral’s sole IT and communications supplier, linking a UK-wide estate of 1,750 retail trading outlets, including 1,550 betting outlets, 32 casinos and 171 bingo clubs.

The rationalisation of the group’s communications onto a single, managed network will deliver significant cost savings and efficiencies, said Gala Coral.

Nigel Brewster, commercial director at Gala Coral, said, “Gala Coral required a trusted supplier, which could take our business forward by understanding the future technology requirements which will help us prosper in a fast moving and competitive industry.”
