Unisys has joined forces with Oracle in a global alliance to aid enterprise modernisation.

This is the first joint initiative between the two companies focused specifically on standards-based modernisation solutions for enterprise IT assets.

The alliance will offer consultancy and services based on Unisys’ 3D Visible Enterprise (3D-VE) approach and the Unisys Modernisation Solution portfolio for critical areas such as business processes, applications and infrastructure modernisation.

This technology will be combined with Oracle’s product portfolio, including Oracle Applications, Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Unisys is a Certified Advantage Partner of the Oracle PartnerNetwork and a member of the Oracle Modernisation Alliance.

Ali Shadman, vice-president and general manager of Unisys open source solutions, systems and technology, said, “Through expanded teaming with Oracle, Unisys can offer enterprises facing the challenge of aligning their IT environments with strategic business goals, the distinct advantage of modernising their IT assets while protecting their long-term investments in critical applications.”

The two companies will offer a number of solutions built on Linux running on Intel-driven hardware.
