Now Virgin DJs can talk faster with F5

Computer Weekly Staff

Virgin Radio has improved download speeds and website performance with new traffic management appliances from supplier F5 Networks.

Mark Bodenham, Virgin Radio technical operations manager, said the existing load-balancing appliances would not have been able to cope with the surge in traffic volumes experienced since Virgin Radio launched new social networking and blogging services.

F5's Big-IP Local Traffic Manager ensures high availability and secure delivery of Windows Media Server and audio services, resulting in quicker download speeds of online content for the listener.
