General Motors is investigating how the next generation of web technologies, such as blogs, wikis and social networking can improve the way it runs its business.

In an interview with Computer Weekly, General Motors chief systems and technology officer Fred Killeen said, "Web 2.0 technologies can make a significant difference to our abilty to move quickly. It can break down corporate hierachies and make it easier to talk to people."
