Siebel Systems shareholders will vote on 31 January on the company’s proposed acquisition by Oracle.

The shareholders meeting will take place at 11am US Pacific time, said Siebel, at a hotel near Siebel’s Californian headquarters.

The proposed $5.85bn (£3.45bn) takeover, which was announced last September, has already been approved by regulatory bodies in both the US and Europe.

Oracle wants to use Siebel to become the biggest supplier in customer relationship management (CRM) software.
