HP has unveiled the next edition of ProCurve Identity Driven Manager to deliver secure and improved access to wired and wireless network resources.

The platform has been upgraded from version 1.0 to 2.0, a year after its launch. Speaking at this week’s NetEvents IT symposium in Italy, Wenceslao Lada, European general manager of the HP ProCurve networking business, said the update would cost £2,850.

It will be available on 1 December as a plug-in to the ProCurve Manager Plus 2.0 system.

Based on the Radius standard, Identity Driven Manager 2.0 allows network administrators to centrally manage access rights given to users as they connect to the network.

Identity Driven Manager 2.0 improves productivity by synchronising with authentication databases and allocating network resources dynamically, and provides more detailed reporting of network usage by groups or individual users.
