HP has succumbed to the inevitable and announced that it is re-scheduling its main user show away from the planned venue in New Orleans.

The Technology Forum 2005 event had been planned for this week. But after the hurricane and flood disaster, HP had previously announced it would wait until 9 September before announcing the new date and venue of the show.

The Technology Forum will now take place in Orlando on 17-20 October, at the Orange County Convention Centre.

New chief executive officer Mark Hurd had been scheduled to deliver his first speech to the HP user community at the New Orleans event. But it is not clear whether he will be able to address Orlando delegates because of his existing schedule.
