HP has cancelled its scheduled New Orleans user conference after the hurricane and flooding catastrophe that has hit the city.

The HP Technology Forum was due to take place on 12-15 September, but local authorities say it will take months before the city and its surrounding area will return to normal.

HP says it is now trying to re-schedule the conference for some time this autumn. HP may consider holding the event in New Orleans or moving it to another location.

The company plans to make an announcement on the location and timing of the event on 9 September.

All hotel bookings made for the event via HP have been cancelled and full refunds will be given. Attendees who had booked non-refundable flights to the event may have problems getting their money back.
