Siebel supports SuSE

Siebel Systems is adapting its customer relationship management applications to run on Novell’s SuSE Linux open source server platform.

Siebel and Novell are co-operating to allow Siebel customers to run their CRM solutions on the recently launched SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 platform.

Skip Bacon, Siebel vice-president of technology, said, “This effort will allow customers of all sizes the opportunity to leverage standards-based computing technologies, and exploit SuSE Linux’s integrated management capabilities to enable system administrators to more rapidly deploy, configure, and operate their production systems.”

Customers will be able to select a variety of different hardware platforms to run Siebel applications using SuSE.
