New date to be set for the ICT Charity Ball

New date to be set for the ICT Charity Ball

The terrorist bombing in London forced the postponement of the annual Intellect ICT Charity Ball, which was due to take place on the night of 7 July.

The event, supported by Computer Weekly and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, was expected to raise up to £100,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation charity to help disadvantaged children.

Intellect, the IT suppliers' organisation, is reorganising the event and hopes to soon announce a new date, likely to be in September.

To ensure the Starlight charity does not suffer and to help offset costs from the cancelled event, which were uninsurable, the organisers are looking for a further three sponsors.

Anyone who did not have tickets for the original event will be able to buy them once the new date is fixed.

For details contact Tina Compton at Intellect on 0207-331 2011.
