Rochdale Council to sign £187m deal

Will Hadfield

Rochdale Council is set to award a £187.5m, 15-year outsourcing deal to Agilisys and Mouchel Parkman.

Business process outsourcer Agilisys has been given preferred-bidder status and a final decision on the contract will be made at a full council meeting on 27 July.

The deal will see the creation of a single contact centre to handle queries on all the council’s services.

Agilisys will be responsible for the contact centre as well as the council’s property management, highways and engineering, payroll and ICT functions.

New systems and processes will be rolled out across the different services by Agilisys and its support services partner Mouchel Parkman.

Council leader, Allen Brett, said, “Mouchel Parkman and Agilisys have put together an excellent bid, which will help to transform Rochdale town centre and generate many new jobs for the borough. They have put forward impressive proposals that meet the borough’s needs.”

The Rochdale deal follows a £158m outsourcing contract signed last month between Bradford Council and IBM and Serco Solutions.
