Enterasys Networks is suing two of its biggest networking rivals over alleged patent infringements.

The company has filed lawsuits against Extreme Networks and Foundry Networks for alleged infringements related to six Enterasys patents.

The patents cover areas including multi-protocol routing and local area networking. Enterasys has not yet outlined what damages it is seeking with its lawsuits.

Extreme and Foundry have so far not reacted to the lawsuits.

Enterasys recently announced it would be making 300 of its staff redundant, representing almost a third of its headcount. This cost-cutting programme includes the closure of a US plant in Rochester.
