Computer Associates has introduced five security “protection suites” for the SME market.

The suites are bundled solutions including anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and secure storage and data back-up systems.

The options range in price from $325 (£175) to $1,099 for a five-user licence.

“CA is addressing the needs of a large and often under-protected market segment through its unique, out-of-the-box combination of protection and data migration technologies,” said David Luft, CA senior vice-president of SME product development.

“This will help protect our SME customers against a full range of diverse data loss and business interruption threats, while enabling them to streamline their desktop and server protection processes."

Yankee Group analyst Chris Liebert said, “SMEs, like large enterprises, need to secure their data, optimise the efficiency of their IT operations and minimise the total cost of PC ownership. CA has successfully identified SME pain points and is addressing those challenges with its protection suites.”
