Toshiba has launched an IP telephony solution for SMEs that aims to support low-cost contact centre applications and voice over IP.

The Strata CIX Office system is the first pure IP product from Toshiba and offers SMEs contact centre support, IP-networking, VoIP, unified messaging and multi-site connectivity from a single platform.

The new product gives users control over how they migrate to an IP environment. Its modular design can be deployed as a pure IP platform or a converged solution integrated with existing traditional TDM-based equipment, Toshiba said.

According to Toshiba, this ensures users can choose the best configuration for their business in terms of capital outlay and business needs.

“The Strata CIX Office brings the potential of IP telephony to life. It enables greater flexibility and integration with the business data network to help organisations reduce costs, stay competitive and drive business performance,” said Tim Webb, general manager at Toshiba’s Business Communications Division.
