The Sun StorEdge 6920 now helps customers consolidate existing storage assets, ensure data availability and protect their storage investments without breaking the bank, said Sun.
"The Sun StorEdge 6920 system is a next-generation solution with scalability, reliability, plus features and functions that eclipse other traditional storage systems that it competes with," said Tony Asaro, an analyst at the Enterprise Strategy Group.
"The Sun StorEdge 6920 solution supports scalability, advanced copy services and intelligent tiered storage and can manage heterogeneous storage systems creating an intelligent storage network. It’s a new way to do storage area networking from a major vendor,” said Asaro.
With the improved 6920 platform users can integrate multi-vendor storage assets into a single modular system, simplify storage management and improve resource utilisation, said Sun.
The enhanced system will be available by the end of June.
