Steganos enables SMEs to surf anonymously

Security provider Steganos has launched a product that enables users to surf the internet anonymously without installing any software.

The company’s first online service, Internet Anonym Online, is designed to allow that with each visit to a website, SMEs are protected from profiling and from their access being traced back to their computer or ISP accounts.

To use Internet Anonym Online, SMEs call up a special page on the Steganos website and activate a toolbar. The website address is entered into the toolbar, and the Steganos server fetches the web pages anonymously and without any loss of speed.

IP addresses are hidden and cookies and malware scripts are automatically filtered out, assures Steganos. The connection between a user's computer and the Steganos server is encrypted using SSL, and the software also supports secure websites so that e-commerce sites can be browsed privately. Users can also visit search engines via the toolbar, confident their anonymity is protected.

Steganos Internet Anonym Online can be used by subscribers on any computer and with any browser. SMEs can test the tool for one week free of charge and subscribe for a year for £34.95.
