Veritas Software has released the latest version of its NetBackup Server, incorporating new back-up, data recovery and data management features.
Version 6.0 incorporates back-up and management technology from partner Network Appliance and enables the management and recovery of systems across different Unix, Windows and Linux environments.
Systems can be recovered to different types of hardware, reducing hardware costs and providing administrators with flexibility in their recovery operations.
Jeremy Burton, Veritas executive vice-president of the data management group, said, "NetBackup 6.0 catalogues all information, whether it was copied by Veritas or another vendor's system, so administrators can rapidly recover it from the most efficient place.”
Veritas was recently acquired by security products company Symantec in a $13.5bn (£7.5bn) deal.
