German chip maker Infineon has appointed Wolfgang Ziebart as the company's chief executive.
Ziebart was deputy chairman of the executive board at automotive supplier Continental.
Infineon's previous chief executive, Ulrich Schumacher, abruptly resigned from the position in March, citing personal reasons.
Supervisory board chairman Max Dietrich Kley has filled in as interim chief executive while the company sought a replacement for Schumacher.
Kley will now resume his role as supervisory board chairman.
