Chinese government to adopt BCS IT exam

John Kavanagh
The Chinese government is adopting the international version of the European computer driving licence qualification for its IT skills education programme in an initiative involving the BCS.

The government will promote the qualification throughout the country as "a crucial step forward in the future development of China's workforce".

ICDL Asia Pacific, established by the BCS and the ECDL Foundation, has worked with the IT Training Quality and Certification Institute in China and with Electric Paper, a training and testing company based in Dublin, to meet local requirements. A Chinese language automated test is available to support the initiative.
