IDX Systems has finalised an agreement to serve as a subcontractor to BT for the telecom giant's multibillion-pound contract with the National Health Service.

IDX will help BT design and install a patient record system for the London region as part of the £2.3bn NHS National Programme for IT, an ambitious effort to wire 50 million patients in England with an interconnected healthcare records system.
