Hewlett-Packard chairman and chief executive officer Carly Fiorina has been appointed to Arnold Schwarzenegger's transition team.
Schwarzenegger, who defeated California Governor Gray Davis in a recall election on Tuesday, will be sworn in as soon as the election results are certified, a process expected to be completed in late November.
Fiorina joins former Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon; Congressman David Dreier, a Republican from San Dimas, California; and others on the committee, which will advise Schwarzenegger on political appointees to the new administration.
"We're honoured to be playing an advisory role in this important transition," Fiorina said. "The state is facing a unique and extraordinary set of challenges and opportunities that demand the involvement of all of us to address them."
