Macrovision and ARC sign worldwide deal

Macrovision has agreed to license its electronic licence management technology to London-based supplier of system-on-chip technology ARC International.

ARC will integrate Macrovision's FLEXIm electronic licence management software into its applications.

ARC provides easily customised, embedded 32-bit microprocessor cores, with integrated development tools, real-time operating systems, software and other intellectual property. The company's technology is used in telecommunications, voice and data networking and consumer electronics.

FLEXIm allows network application users to ensure they comply with the usage terms of their software licence. Licences can be updated and distributed electronically, providing developers with the means to enable key features and modules on a per-client basis, without time-consuming software rewrites.

Macrovision provides DRM (digital rights management) technology for the home video, enterprise software, consumer software and music markets. These technologies encompass copy protection, electronic licensing and rights management and encryption.
