Kingston picks Infineon as memory chip provider
Infineon Technologies is to supply Kingston Technology with dynamic RAM (DRAM) products under the terms of a five-year deal valued at up to $2.5bn (£1.56bn).
As part of the agreement, Kingston will provide manufacturing and back-end engineering services to Infineon.
The deal aimed to strengthen each company's position in the global memory products market.
Infineon will supply Kingston with DRAM and other memory parts manufactured at its worldwide fabrication plants, while Kingston will provide component and module validation to Infineon through Kingston's subsidiary, Advanced Validation Labs.
