The context management feature in the portal is a good way to offer users ancillary information about their work or their roles in an enterprise, he added.
PeopleSoft's executive vice-president, Ram Gupta, said the context management feature would be key to tying together crucial data that may be far flung across the enterprise.
For example, a worker in a company's billing department may need to know that although a certain customer may have been 30 days late in paying a bill, they have committed to filling the sales pipeline for the next quarter, Gupta said.
In that example, it would be better to wait for the late payment than to send out a payment notice, he added.
" You may also want to check in the past six months how many invoices they have paid late - this may be an exception," said Gupta.
