New releases at Citrix forum

Citrix used its annual user forum in Orlando to introduce several new products last week, promising to secure Internet access to applications and content, simplify portal implementations and enable users to test software over the Web, writes Daniel Thomas.

The application software provider demonstrated the Citrix Secure Gateway (CSG), which is designed to secure traffic travelling across the Internet between servers running Citrix's Metaframe application software and its Independent Computing Architecture client workstations based on secure socket layer (SSL).
Citrix also previewed a portal product, code-named South Beach, which will simplify portal implementations by aggregating Windows, Unix and Java applications, native Web applications and internal and external content through a single, personalised Web interface.

Elsewhere at the conference, Citrix announced a collaboration with evaluation service provider Runaware, aiming to deliver software testing services to customers via the Web.
