Standard Life takes safe option with software
Mutual insurance company Standard Life has chosen an e-procurement solution from its existing mainframe software supplier rather than a best-of-breed newcomer.
Paul Phillips
The company chose to extend its software from Walker Interactive Systems in order to minimise the cost and difficulty of integration.
Walker Interactive Systems has been in business for more than 20 years and lists banks, building societies and other financial institutions as its core customers. Its software runs on IBM mainframes and their equivalents.
Standard Life is piloting the e-procurement software in a project that ends in June.
