Science Dynamics Corporation demonstrated the latest generation of its Call Control software at the American Correctional Association conference in Nashville, Tennessee last week.
The software suite uses IP to provide savings as it manages calls over multi-site installations. An additional advantage is its suitability for eavesdropping by warders. According to Science Dynamics, the software offers "advanced call monitoring, real-time recording and patented three-way call fraud detection".
Sources in Britain's gangster underworld contacted by ComputerWeekly were impressed by the American company's expertise.
"Passing up the opportunity to install this software in UK prisons would be just criminal," one said.
