Women achievers are being asked to come forward to enter the 10th European Women of Achievement Awards. The awards, held by the European Union of Women (EUW) and sponsored by IBM, are open to women who have made a significant achievement in their chosen field.

Peta Payne, chairman of the awards said, "For Europe to prosper we need to highlight and reward the many 'can do' women out there. They inspire other by looking for opportunities and needs beyond national boundaries."

The awards are divided into arts, business, entrepreneur, humanitarian and professional categories. IBM hopes that its sponsorship of the awards will raise the profile of women in IT and attract more ladies into the profession. Ulrich Maerki, general manager of IBM Global services said, "We hope to recognise the significant contribution women are making to IBM's success and demonstrate that we are doing everything we can to attract more women into IT."

The last date for nominations is March 31 and the winners will receive their awards at a special lunch for over 600 people at Grosvenor House on July 14. For nomination forms call 020 8681 6619.
