The enterprise and platinum versions of XenDesktop 4 Feature Pack 2, due for release the last week of September, will include both the XenClient bare-metal hypervisor and XenVault encryption software. The bare-metal hypervisor is installed directly on desktop hardware, instead of on top of the operating system. By including XenVault, the new version of XenDesktop with encrypt corporate data on employee-owned laptops.
ICM Continuity Services wins £19 million financial services group contract
ICM Continuity Services, part of the Phoenix IT Group, has been chosen by a London based financial services group to provide a significant upgrade to the dealings and PC systems. The five-and-a-half-year contract amounts to £19 million.

Vigilante Bespoke goes for The Bunker service
Managed services provider The Bunker has announced that Vigilante Bespoke has selected the company to host its 'Cyber-Bodyguard' personal digital security system. Vigilante Bespoke runs its services for the likes of celebrities, footballers and VIPs, who need to ensure their personal information is kept private.
Emulex has completed its acquisition of privately-held ServerEngines Corporation. The semiconductor company adds to Emulex's BladeEngine 10 Gb/s Ethernet ASICs product portfolio. The company was purchased for $78 million in cash, which is net of $25 million debt plus interest owed to Emulex, and eight million shares of Emulex stock. Emulex adds approximately 165 employees to its tally with this acquisition.
New president and COO for Emulex
Emulex has promoted Jeff Benck to company president and chief operating officer. In this position, Benck will be responsible for delivering growth and diversification of Emulex products in the data centre. He will report directly to Emulex CEO Jim McCluney.
