At the opening on Tuesday, Avaya's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) president Michael Bayer said he planned to boost headcount at the Galway R&D centre over the next year.
He said the R&D centre allowed customers to see Avaya's collaboration solutions in action in an environment customised to reflect their own business use cases and challenges.
It allowed customers to work with Avaya staff engineers to see how their environment could migrate into those solutions and how they could benefit in other ways, he said.
Avaya is currently recruiting in Galway, looking for skills in R&D, engineering, finance, IT and administrative support. All open jobs in Ireland can be viewed here.
