Avaya recruits IT skills for Galway R&D centre

Ian Grant

Enterprise communications systems supplier Avaya has opened a global research and development centre in Galway, Ireland where customers can start to develop next generation comms-based applications, such as call centre management, and test upcoming products and services.

At the opening on Tuesday, Avaya's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) president Michael Bayer said he planned to boost headcount at the Galway R&D centre over the next year.

He said the R&D centre allowed customers to see Avaya's collaboration solutions in action in an environment customised to reflect their own business use cases and challenges.

It allowed customers to work with Avaya staff engineers to see how their environment could migrate into those solutions and how they could benefit in other ways, he said.

Avaya is currently recruiting in Galway, looking for skills in R&D, engineering, finance, IT and administrative support. All open jobs in Ireland can be viewed here.
